For quite some time now, other sites that allow you to upload videos, such as Vimeo, allow HD quality. Although long overdue, YouTube has finally added an option to “watch in HD.” Not that this feature is not available on all videos, but if it is, you can find the option located on the bottom right of the embedded YouTube video:

If the “watch in HD” option is not available, you can try appending &fmt=18 to the end of the YouTube video’s url to make the video higher quality (480×360 instead of 320×240). To embed YouTube videos on your own personal site in HD quality, append &fmt=22 or &fmt=22, and it will appear in HD or higher quality, respectively, as long as it is available.

Have fun watching Victoria’s Secret fashion show….i mean your favorite funny YouTube videos in higher quality!
